Remember, editing is a feeling. You need to start developing this feeling. For this assignment, get a song you can 'feel.' It might be slow or fast w/ a lot of beats. You can get a song from dewolfemusic.com or get one you already own.
Then cut it in FCP (Final Cut Pro) to 30 seconds - choose the best part of the song on the main storyline. Use footage and/or pictures to edit on the beat. Speed up or slow down the clips to match the mood of the song. Use markers (keyboard shortcut = m) to mark your music. Use effects and transitions to match the mood and tempo of the song. Use the keyboard shortcuts so you can remember those for the upcoming test.
